George W. Dargan, 1862     

Attended for two years and then enlisted in the Confederate Army for the duration of the war. The college was occupied by federal forces for 17 years at war's end forcing him to continue his education elsewhere. Elected U.S. Congressman from S.C. (1883-1891).
