Burnett R. Maybank, 1945     

Attended The Citadel for one and a half years before enlisting in U.S.A.A.F. for service in WWII. Elected Lt. Governor of S.C. in 1958 serving under Governor Hollings - a Citadel graduate. NOTE: for four years(1959-1963) the state of S.C. had Citadel alumni as Governor and Lt Governor. He made an unsuccessful run for Governor in 1963.
